WORLD THINKING DAY
CELEBRATED ON 22 FEBRUARY

World Thinking Day is celebrated each year by the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the world on the 22nd February. Thinking Day originated from a desire by the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to dedicate a day to thinking about and appreciating the global spread of these movements.
The theme for World Thinking Day 2024 is Our World, Our Thriving Future: The Environment and Global Poverty. This theme emphasizes the interconnectedness of environmental sustainability and poverty reduction.

The history of World Thinking Day can be traced back to 1926 when delegates from across the globe met at Camp Edith Macy in New York for the fourth World Conference of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

The Thinking Day symbol was introduced in 1975. The World Trefoil in the centre represents the World Association, whilst arrows pointing towards it represent action and direction. The circular design represents the World of the Girl Guide/Girl Scout Movement.
